Are you seeking security or adventure?

I’d love to say I’m adventurous, but the truth is I’m not. I’ve sought security, out of insecurity, through most of my life. I suppose my definition of security is the comfort zone.

I am on a mission to change that though. Instead of telling myself I can’t do it, because I won’t be good enough, I am going to take the opportunities.

And in fact, perhaps it is also a good time to discuss what we mean by adventure. I think most of us thinkg of adventure as something really crazy, like hiking Everest. But in reality, adventure is any unusual and exciting activity. Therefore, any new experience can be seen as an adventure.

It could be a solo trip to a new city, just for the day. Trying a new restaurant.

Anything that’s a new experience, that’s outside of your comfort zone – be it a toe over the edge or a giant leap – is an adventure. And if we see it that way, everyday can hold a new adventure.
